Quemaduras

La profundidad de una quemadura determina su severidad. Las quemaduras de primer grado afectan la capa externa de la piel o epidermis y causan dolor, enrojecimiento e inflamación (eritema). Las quemaduras de segundo grado afectan la epidermis y la capa interna de la piel o dermis, causando eritema y ampollas. El daño de las quemaduras de tercer grado se extiende hasta la hipodermis, causando destrucción de todo el grosor de la piel y de los nervios, lo cual produce insensibilidad. Las quemaduras de tercer grado pueden causar pérdida de la función y/o de la sensación.
