Maniobra de Heimlich en uno mismo - Información general

Información:

Si una persona se está ahogando por algo, puede llevar a cabo la maniobra de Heimlich en sí misma de la siguiente manera:

  • Empuñar la mano y colocar el pulgar debajo de la parrilla costal y por encima del ombligo
  • Sujetar el puño con la otra mano y presionar en el área con un movimiento rápido hacia arriba

La persona también se puede apoyar sobre el borde de una mesa, silla o baranda y empujar rápidamente la parte superior del vientre (abdomen superior) contra el borde.

Si es necesario, se debe repetir este movimiento hasta que el objeto que obstruye las vías respiratorias salga.
