Síntomas:

Los síntomas que sugieren una producción elevada de cortisol son:

  • Cara de luna llena: cara redonda y enrojecida con mejillas prominentes
  • Obesidad
  • Joroba de búfalo: joroba redondeada de grasa en la parte superior de la espalda, exactamente debajo de la nuca
  • Estatura baja: crecimiento atrófico en estatura que puede ser menor al percentil cinco
  • Virilización: aumento del vello corporal (hipertricosis) especialmente en la cara, vello púbico, acné, engrosamiento de la voz y aumento del tamaño del clítoris (en las niñas)

Los síntomas que sugieren el aumento de la producción de aldosterona son iguales a los síntomas de disminución del potasio (debilidad, calambres musculares, aumento de la sed y de la micción).
