Definición:

Es una afección que se presenta cuando una persona no tiene suficientes glóbulos blancos sanguíneos llamados neutrófilos o granulocitos.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

La agranulocitosis puede ser causada por una insuficiencia de la médula ósea para producir suficientes neutrófilos. También puede ocurrir cuando los glóbulos blancos son destruidos en forma más rápida de lo que pueden ser producidos.
