Definición:

Son acumulaciones duras de mineral que se forman en la vejiga urinaria.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Los cálculos en la vejiga son por lo general el resultado de otro problema urológico, como:

Aproximadamente el 95% de todos los casos de cálculos vesicales se presenta en hombres y son mucho menos frecuentes que los cálculos renales.

Los cálculos vesicales pueden aparecer cuando la orina que se encuentra en la vejiga se concentra y los materiales se cristalizan. Los síntomas ocurren cuando el cálculo irrita el revestimiento de la vejiga u obstruye el flujo de orina desde este órgano.
