Carcinoma anaplásico de la tiroides

Definición:

Es una forma agresiva de cáncer de la glándula tiroides.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

El carcinoma anaplásico de tiroides crece muy rápidamente y es un tipo invasivo de cáncer de tiroides que ocurre con mayor frecuencia en personas mayores de 60 años. La causa se desconoce. Las pruebas de la función tiroidea suelen ser normales. El carcinoma anaplásico representa sólo el 1% de todos los cánceres tiroideos y es una enfermedad muy poco frecuente.
