Definición:

Es una inflamación del estómago e intestinos causada por bacterias o toxinas bacterianas.

Causas, incidencia y factores de riesgo:

Muchos tipos diferentes de bacterias pueden producir los síntomas asociados con la gastroenteritis bacteriana, como:

  • Campylobacter jejuni
  • Clostridio
  • E. coli
  • Salmonela
  • Shigella
  • Estafilococo
  • Yersinia

Algunas fuentes de infecciones son:

  • Productos de panadería
  • Productos lácteos
  • Alimentos preparados inapropiadamente
  • Platos de carne recalentados
  • Mariscos

Los factores de riesgo son:
