If you are currently being treated with any of the following medications, you should not use Lactobacillus or other probiotics without first talking to your healthcare provider.

Sulfasalazine - A laboratory study suggests that L. acidophilus speeds up metabolism of sulfasalazine, a medication used to treat ulcerative colitis. The significance of this information is unknown at this time.
